Abate, 77, of Everett, Massachusetts.

Linda was the devoted mother of Lisa Abate Trevisani and her husband, Thomas M. Trevisani III. She was the cherished grandmother of Justin Thomas Trevisani and Amanda Rose Trevisani, who were the light of her life. She will be deeply missed not only by her family, but also by the many who lovingly considered her a second mother.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Harry and Lucille Kibby of Everett.

Linda was a loving sister to Deborah Kosak and her husband Richard, David Kibby and his wife Marie, and Gary Kibby and his wife Jan. She was a treasured aunt to Richard Kosak and his wife Tara, Kristen Wallace and her husband Eric, Alyssa Borgonzi and her husband Dave, Mark Kibby and his wife Rachel, Matthew Kosak and his wife Angela, and Juliann Curley and her husband Shaun, and a proud great-aunt to many great-nieces and great-nephews.

For more than 25 years, Linda worked in the Administration Office at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she built lasting friendships that she treasured throughout her life.

Linda lived with a joyful spirit and boundless positivity, setting an inspiring example for all who knew her. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with family and friends, and she had a remarkable way of spreading cheer wherever she went.

A devoted sports fan, Linda especially loved cheering on Everett High School football and basketball alongside her dear friend Eleanor Kelly. She found great pride and joy in watching her grandchildren compete in Wilmington sports and enjoyed following University of New Hampshire athletics. As an avid and loyal New England Patriots fan, one of her favorite memories was attending the legendary “Squish the Fish” game in Miami with her daughter Lisa.

Family vacations brought her immense joy, particularly trips to Lake Winnipesaukee, North Conway, and Cape Cod. She also treasured time spent at Loon Mountain with her parents, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.

In her final season, Linda was deeply grateful for the exceptional medical care she received at Massachusetts General Hospital and for the compassionate rehabilitation support from Northeast Rehabilitation Center, Whittier Rehabilitation Center, and Mary Immaculate Short Term and Long Term Care Center. She was profoundly thankful for the outpouring of love from family and friends — the visits, calls, and constant messages that reminded her how deeply she was cherished.

Linda’s warmth, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

A private burial will be done at a later date.
