Obituary

Born July 14, 1936, in Boston, Massachusetts, peacefully departed this world on May 18, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida. She lived a life rich in love, laughter, and determination, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate within the hearts of her family and friends.
Patricia was the cherished wife of the late John A. Archer, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life. Together, they nurtured a loving family in Burlington, MA that includes their sons, Steven Archer of Boston, and John P. Archer of Stoneham, MA, as well as their daughter, Dr. Lauren Archer of St. Petersburg, FL. Pat was predeceased by her parents John and Ethel Sullivan, and her brothers John and Lawrence. She is survived by her sister, Dr. Elizabeth Sullivan of Marblehead, MA.
Pat was a proud grandmother to Nicole, Karen, Matthew, Kacie, and Shawn, and a great-grandmother to six beautiful great-grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit extended to many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews, all of whom found refuge in her warmth and generous nature. She will be missed by many close friends from Massachusetts to Florida.
Patricia cherished her time spoiling her furry grand-dogs Molly, Riley, and Gizmo with treats and belly rubs, and was the best dog mom to Lola. She was a long-time supporter of smaller animal rescues in both Florida and New England, and gave many cats and dogs their forever homes over the years. She also supported several local charities specializing in feeding the homeless, protecting victims of domestic violence, and rehabilitating Veterans.
A graduate of Fitton Central High School in East Boston, Pat furthered her education by receiving her BA in Business Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Western New England College. Her professional journey began as a Court Stenographer for the Boston District Court system, followed by years dedicated to her children as a full-time mother. In 1982, she joined the Federal Government, concluding her remarkable career after 27 years as a Contract Negotiator for the US Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base, earning the distinction of Civilian Employee of the Year in 1993.
Despite her many professional accomplishments, it was Pat's personality that left an indelible mark on those privileged to know her. She was known for her kind, giving, and loving nature, all with a touch of class and little bit of bling. Pat's laughter often filled the rooms she entered. She spent her leisure hours in her passions for travel, the performing arts, shopping, watching movies, and cooking, but her true joy came from spending time with those she loved. As we gather to celebrate her life, let us remember her determined spirit and loving heart. She taught us the beauty of generosity and the strength of compassion. Pat will forever be remembered not only for her numerous contributions but for the love she so freely gave.
