Colin Henry, 83, of Lynn, formerly of Edinburgh, Scotland, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Sybil (Alexander) Henry with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

He was born on September 12, 1941 in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom and was the cherished son of the late Charles and Christina (Hastings) Henry.

Colin was educated in Edinburgh beginning with Wardie Primary School, Trinity Secondary School and then on to Ramsay Technical Institute where he earned his degree as an electrical engineer.

He met his future wife Sybil in 1959, married in October of 1964 and emigrated to the U.S. in January of 1965, where they settled in Lynn, Massachusetts, and raised their five children.

He joined the I.B.E.W. Local 103 in Boston where he worked for over 34 years until his retirement. He earned his 50 year diamond anniversary pin in 2015.

Colin had a passion for gardening and enjoyed model shipbuilding, stamp collecting, and photography. He also had a love for all creatures and watching wildlife and feeding birds and waterfowl at his second home in East Wakefield, NH where he had lived since retiring.

In addition to his wife, Sybil, Colin is survived by his children, Colleen Brady and her husband James of N. Reading, Paul Henry, Scott Henry, Ian Henry and Julie Baker, all of Lynn; his grandchildren, Erin Brady, Brittney Locke and her husband Daniel, Taylor and Danielle Baker and Serena Henry; his great-grandchildren, Thomas and Jillian Locke; his sister, Maureen Legget and her husband Alex of Lynn; his brother, Trevor Henry of the United Kingdom; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

My heart broke when you chose me to give the sign to that you were done fighting. I will keep your memory alive forever by telling your stories to your grandchildren and great grandchildren.  I wish I told you more how much you were loved!  Rest in peace Dad.
