Update Remembrance

Donna L. (Harris) Campbell 69, beloved wife of Richard M. Campbell, passed away at home Saturday, June 29. Her last days were spent surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends.

A lifelong resident of Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Donald F. and Louise F. (Poor) Harris and cherished step-daughter of Phyllis Harris, of Peabody. She was educated in the Peabody Public school system and graduated from Peabody High School in 1973. She continued her education at Merrimack College in North Andover, earning a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1977.

Upon completion of her degree, she held a long term position at Peabody High School as a paraprofessional in the chemistry labs. In the course of her work, she would prepare all of the lab experiments for her chemistry students, occasionally bringing things home to demonstrate for her children.

After leaving her position at Peabody High, Donna dedicated the remaining 13 years of her life fulfilling the role of caretaker to her 5 grandchildren, whom she adored with the entirety of her heart.

Donna felt a strong connection to her Irish heritage. With Irish music constantly played over the years, it will surely bring comfort to her loved ones in their time of grief. In her spare time she enjoyed playing the banjo and had a love for country and blue grass music. She enjoyed baking, especially making chocolate chip cookies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, with whom she shared forty three years of marriage and her step-mother, she is survived by her four devoted children, Donald Campbell and his wife, Melissa of Lynn, William Campbell and his wife, Lisa of Peabody, Susan Rebello of Peabody and Katelyn Campbell of South Paris, ME, five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ethan, Nicholas, Mason and Liam, three sisters, Kathleen Harris and her late husband, Frank Macan of Amesbury, Laura D’Andrea of Amesbury and Mary Puleio and her husband, Robin of Saco, ME and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
